Nechama Backer
Born in Los Angeles, CA
Lives & works in Baltimore, MD
Born to an Orthodox Jewish family in LA, Nechama lived her early years out in the sun, enjoying the natural environment. Nechama carried that outdoors spirit to the east coast and allows nature as well as Judaic philosophy to inspire her art work. In her spare time, (aside from creating art!), she enjoys learning new things, playing guitar, taking nature walks, and socializing with friends and family.

Although my focus is in hand drawing and painting, my skill set includes photography, Photoshop, Illustrator, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking.

I work mainly in my community as an art teacher and a commissioned artist. I've been hired by private clients as well as institutions, including Ner Israel, Talumdical Academy, Ohr Chadash, Shira Talent Camp, and Regency Estates Camp (New York).

I enjoy volunteering for artistic community projects, and had the pleasure and opportunity to be involved with the Bais Yaakov 2013 and 2017 Exhibitions.
